I love classic TV shows. I was just arguing with one of Ethan’s friends about the merits of the old, campy Batman TV show. He could not believe I liked it. I could not believe he didn’t. He said Batman should be dark and brooding, I said sure, but there was still room for campy. Crazy kid!
Even though I love classic TV I do not love classic real estate practices. I want to let you in on a little secret, most real estate agents are using old practices to try and sell people’s homes. There are 3P’s to selling real estate. These 3P’s have changed dramatically over the last decade especially when it comes to technology. As a company we have embraced these changes. Let me briefly share with you the OLD and the NEW way of doing business and why it matters to you.
OLD 3P’s of Real Estate:
Put a sign in the yard
Put the property in the MLS
Pray it sells.
This is an antiquated way of doing business and will hurt you as a home owner by not getting you enough exposure, which will cost you time and money in the long run.
NEW 3P’s of Real Estate:
Preparation - Making sure the home is ready to sell and shows well from day one.
Price - Pricing your property in the “sweet spot” for your market.
Promotion - Using a Digital Marketing Plan and harnessing it's power to get in front of the right people at the right time.
