So, I love Spokane. I have often thought that Spokane is the Ballard of eastern Washington - quirky, eclectic, artistic, yet still a close-knit family community that has the advantage of warm summers and snow in the wintertime (you will NOT get that in Ballard, my friends!!)
Last night, the hubby and I went to a place that I can easily see transplanted into the brewery district in Ballard - Jones Radiator, located at 120 E. Sprague in the University District. It's owned by a buddy of mine, Lucas McIntyre and his wife Jocelyn, who promptly greeted us with two very tasty mixed drinks. Jones Radiator is known for its beer selection, but what can I say - I'm a Cosmopolitan girl. Anyhow, it was Tuesday, which is Open Mic night - so we were treated to a mix of local talent as we soaked in the ambiance. Check out the cool brick walls, which feature local photographers' artwork:
One of the things that struck me about Jones Radiator was the mix of clientele. We sat among people of all ages and walks of life - twentysomethings hanging out with friends, couples on dates, urban professionals, and tables of longtime friends having their weekly get-together. No matter who you are, or what you do - you will not feel out of place. Mr. Thorson and I fit right in.
A great beverage selection, local talent, a comfortable atmosphere - as if all this weren't enough - Jones Radiator features 2 pinball machines AND a tabletop Ms. Pacman game. I think I've found my forever home.
Check out Jones Radiator - and tell them that Tina sent you.
